Announcement of immediate position openings

IDEAL-NM (see www.ideal-nm.org<http://www.ideal-nm.org>) is the New Mexico Higher Education and Public Education program that provides comprehensive eLearning services in partnership with local schools, colleges and universities, and government agencies.  Our official grand opening was August 12, 2008, and we are experiencing rapid growth.  We have an immediate need to employ four individuals for the positions described in the attached descriptions. These positions will work out at a North Albuquerque office location and are six-month temporary position.  Position may be extended upon assessment of need at the end of six months.  In summary the positions are....

IT Tech Support Specialist II (2 Positions Available)
The New Mexico Higher Education Department seeks to hire two IT Tech Support Specialists for the Innovative Digital Education and Learning (IDEAL-NM) program.  Their duties will include:
*         Assist online teachers in developing interactive learning objects for online courses.
*         Work within the Blackboard Learning Management System environment to migrate/upload course content.
*         Continuously research advances in web based course development technologies, products, and service offerings.
*         Provide help desk assistance to schools, students and staff regarding the use of computer technology on various platforms in hardware, software, printing, installation, applications, E-mail and multiple operating systems.

Knowledge of operating system hardware, software, and peripherals is necessary.  Skills required in computer technology, software applications and web based development technologies.  Experience in Blackboard environment is a plus.  This is a six-month temporary position.  Position may be extended upon assessment of need at the end of six months.

High school diploma is required.  Work location is 5201 Eagle Rock NE, Albuquerque 87113.  Pay is based upon qualifications.  Midpoint of pay band is approximately $20/hour, $42,000 annualized.

IT Applications Developer I (Web Editor)
The New Mexico Higher Education Department seeks to hire an IT Applications Developer for the Innovative Digital Education and Learning (IDEAL-NM) program.  Duties will include:
*         Managing and maintaining complex web portal content, including content development, editing, and pathway management.
*         Working with web designers to create and manage content elements.
*         Working with software applications to design/create publication materials.
*         Working with staff and stakeholder groups to ensure high-quality web content and effective review/ revision processes.
Knowledge of operating system hardware, software, and peripherals is necessary.  Skills required in computer technology and software applications.  Experience in web management is a plus.  This is a six-month temporary position.  Position may be extended upon assessment of need at the end of six months.  Associates Degree in Computer Science or Computer Programming is required.  Work location is 5201 Eagle Rock NE, Albuquerque, 87113.  Pay is based upon qualifications.  Midpoint of pay band is approximately $22/hour, $47,000 annualized.

Education Administrator-O
The New Mexico Higher Education Department seeks to hire an Education Administrator-O for the Innovative Digital Education and Learning (IDEAL-NM) program.  Duties will include:
*         Coordinating online course development/design processes, timelines and personnel under the direction of the Academic Services Director.  A primary focus will be on state agency training courses.
*         Participating in management team development of the business processes associated with the online agency training environment.
*         Working within Blackboard Learning Management System environment to assist course developers and designers.
*         Working with staff and stakeholder groups to ensure high-quality content and effective review/ revision processes.
Knowledge of operating system hardware, software and peripherals is necessary.  Skills required in computer technology, software applications, online course design and online course pedagogy.  Experience in course content development is a plus.
This is a six-month temporary position.  Position may be extended upon assessment of need at the end of six months.  Bachelor's Degree in education is required.  Experience in teaching-related field is a plus.  Work location is Jerry Apodoca Building, 300 Don Gaspar, Santa Fe.  Pay is based upon qualifications.  Midpoint of pay band is approximately $22/hour $47,000 annualized.
