CHECS-Net
offers network services in response to constituent requirements. The
following services are available currently or are in development. Please

Connectivity
Consultation
CHECS-Net personnel assist in planning, installation, and upgrades for
your CHECS-Net connection.
Domain Name System (DNS) Hosting
Basic: CHECS-Net provides primary and/or secondary DNS hosting for member
institutions.
Internet/ Intranet Connectivity
CHECS-Net provides robust Internet and Intranet connectivity to institutions
of higher education, and other non-profit entities that are served by
CHECS-Net.
Internet2
CHEC-Net institutions have access to the Internet2 Abilene Research
Network. The goal of Internet2 is to bring member institutions together
to collaborate on new technologies for advancing education-networking
tools, applications, middleware and content. Click

IP Addressing
CHECS-Net staff can assist your organization in obtaining IP addresses
at the time of initial connection as well as procuring additional addresses
as needed in the future.
Monitoring/Analysis
Using various monitoring and analysis tools, CHECS-Net provides tools
for cpu, memory and bandwidth utilization, circuit status, and other
information that can be valuable as a troubleshooting tool or for developing

Multicast
This service allows CHECS-Net members to receive and send IP multicast
traffic. Please contact CHECS-Net if you need this service.
Technical
Support
Support is available 24/7/365 for connections. Member institutions are
given instructions on how to contact technical support 24/7/365. If
you need more information, please contact
us.
IP Video
The CHECS-Net is planning to offer centralized IP Video options for
constituents currently using IP Video and for those with older H.320
systems.
Quality
of Service (QoS)
IP Quality of Service (QoS) allows members to use CHECS-Net for the
delay sensitive applications such as IP video services.
